Dr. Azhar Attar

MBBS, DNB (General Surgery), FNB (Minimal Access Surgery), FACRSI, Colorectal Surgery Fellowship, St Mark's (London)

I'm Dr. Azhar Attar, a laparoscopic, robotic and laser minimal access surgeon based in Pune, and the founder of Ikigai, The Surgicare Clinic, Pimpri. I trained in colorectal surgery at St Mark's Hospital, London, one of the world's foremost centres for colorectal care, and bring that international expertise to patients across Pune. My practice spans colorectal and GI surgery, hernia repair, gallstone disease, appendix, varicose veins, laser proctology (piles, fissure, fistula, pilonidal sinus), weight-loss surgery (sleeve gastrectomy) and medical weight management, as well as breast and thyroid surgery.

Surgery has changed. Instruments are smaller, imaging is sharper, robots and lasers are steadier, and recoveries are faster. My job is to use those tools where they truly help, and to be honest when they don't.

Approach

How I work with patients

01

Listen first.

A clinic visit is a conversation, not a transaction. The plan starts with your story.

02

Show the evidence.

We talk through what the data says, and where it ends, so you can make a real choice.

03

Operate precisely.

The smallest, most accurate procedure the problem allows. Nothing more.

04

Stay in touch.

Recovery is a process. You'll have a way to reach my team after you leave.
